Part of Women of Vision is educating ourselves and others about the issues that affect our community and our global community. There are many resources out there to watch in order to learn. This is an ongoing list in order to promote education so that we can become better advocates.

Give us your suggestions and why you are suggesting them by replying to this topic. We want to hear from our Women of Vision screen critics! We will add your recommendations to the list.

Hi Mary, how do I order if I am keen to screen one of the movies? Do I get the link from you to download? Thanks to advice. =) Blessings

Mary Gleason

Hi Elaine – What movie are you interested in? We have copies of some movies in our Federal Way office which we can loan to chapters. Otherwise, I’d suggest Netflix or ordering them online. Blessings, Mary

Elaine Goh

Hi Mary, Thanks for the info. Will discuss with the team on the movies we might like to order. Blessings,

Hi Mary, I was searching for a link where I could download or purchase the movie ‘Red Light’ for one of our film screening event. Would you be able to advice where I could get the movie? =) Thank you.

Helpdesk- Laurel

Hi Elaine, I’ve been searching for the film “Red Light” but I can’t seem to locate a place to purchase it, even from their official website. It also looks like the website hasn’t been updated in about a year which is interesting as well. I will keep looking at let you know if I’m able to locate anything. Blessings, Laurel (WOV Helpdesk)

This is not a movie, but a book – but I highly recommend it for anyone who enjoys reading. “A Walk Across the Sun”   It is about the global business of sex trafficking, but written like a mystery, a page-turner, gripping, heartbreaking. The author supports International Justice Mission and is active in the issue. Very good read and very motivating when it comes to advocacy.

I’d like to recommend that you add “The Girl in the Cafe” to this list. It shows how one unlikely woman can speak up to change the plight of the poor. Fiction, but really good.

Heather Allchin

Thanks for compiling this list! What a great conversation starter for all the Mom’s with kids adopted from the Horn of Africa region. These are just a few ways we can show our kids our concern for and care for  the people of their birth country.
