Join WOV sisters in a national prayer circle for our WOV chapters and the up-coming conference!
In anticipation of our Women of Vision Conference in Washington, DC, you are invited to take 30 minutes out of your busy day to participate in a nation-wide prayer meeting on Tuesday, January 31 at 4 pm PST (7pm EST). All you have to do is pick up your phone and dial the number provided below to join dozens of your WOV sisters to pray. Our main focus is the up-coming conference, but there will be opportunity to pray for any urgent needs in your chapters or personal lives as well.
Those of you who have joined us before for a WOV national prayer meeting know that these times of corporate prayer are simply a “circle of praying women” connected by telephones instead of hands. There is no teaching or strict structure. Some women will feel led to pray freely and openly. Some will pray scriptures. (Ask the Lord if there is a scripture you should share.) Others will join in silent agreement. All types of prayer are welcome! It is the joining of our faith and the strength of our agreement that gives our prayers power, not the eloquence of our words. So even if you have never done this before, join us and see how God will bless you for your sacrifice of time and obedience.
About the call:
Please call in a minute or two early. We will begin at exactly 4 pm PST (7 pm EST). The call will go for at least 30 minutes. (If we run over, you can feel free to exit the call as needed.)
Marilee Pierce Dunker will open the call with a few rules. Unlike other WOV conference calls where all incoming calls are automatically muted except the host and speaker, we will be able to hear one another. This will lend itself to the feeling that others are listening and agreeing with our prayers. However, it is imperative that anyone in a noisy environment mute themselves unless they are praying so there are no distracting noises in the background.
Do not put this call on hold! If you have a phone with Call Waiting, it would be wise to put yourself on mute as incoming calls may cause clicking on the line.
We will begin with a time of Praise and Worship. Spend some time before the call asking the Lord to remind you of the ways He has blessed your chapter and the lives of the women involved. Be specific. If you have a favorite scripture of praise, this would be the perfect time to share it.
We will then make our requests known…presenting specific areas of concern over the suffering of our world, WOV, WV and the conference. Marilee will get us started and then participants may pray as they feel led. Please try to keep your prayers fairly short and to the point. 30 minutes will go by faster than you think!
Note: Pauses or periods of silence are natural and healthy as we stop to “listen” to God. But if the silence goes too long, Marilee will suggest a new area for someone to pray over. It would be great if our WOV prayer leaders would jump in when a topic is suggested.
Do not worry if two people start speaking at the same time. This happens at any prayer gathering. Remember most people close their eyes so even if they are in the same room, they can’t see one another. Simply stop and wait for the other person to finish and then share what God has given you to pray.
Marilee will close our time with a prayer of thanksgiving.
We look forward to meeting with you in this special time of prayer!

And this is the confidence we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him. I John 5: 14-15
